Tehama County 4-H and California 4-H have scholarships for higher education as well as awards 4-H members can compete for.

Emerald Star Award
The Emerald Star is a county rank to recognize individual goal setting and accomplishment beyond the county level. It is not part of the state star rank system (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and All Star).
All 4-H members, who have completed a minimum of 1 year in Jr/Teen Leadership AND are in the eighth grade or higher are welcome to apply. Please see application for more information:
4-H Outstanding Service Award
The Tehama County 4-H Outstanding Service Award! Because of the positive impact that community service has for both the individual and the community, Tehama County 4-H will present the Tehama County 4-H Outstanding Service Award to one deserving Tehama County 4-H youth member annually who exhibits the qualities of community service, dependability and leadership. The select recipient's name will be placed on a perpetual plaque and will receive an individual award at Awards Night in the fall.

Ron Knight Memorial Award
One individual will be recognized annually. Their name will be placed on a perpetual plaque and they will receive a $50 cash award and an individual trophy.

AM Vets Freedom Foundation
The conference will be held November 1-4, 2018, in Valley Forge Pennsylvania. This event is not a 4-H event, it is partially sponsored by AM VETS. It is an opportunity that has been offered to (2) Tehama County 4-H members. If chosen participants will be representing Tehama County 4-H, showing 4-H citizenship and pride, being courteous & respectful, and displaying a positive attitude at all times.

The Presentation Award is a trophy that is given to any 4-H member (primary members included) who has made five or more presentations during the club year. By participating, members will learn to organize a presentation, speak before groups, share the skills and knowledge they have learned in 4-H with others, promote 4-H in their community and show how 4-H has helped them.

Presentation Award Application
Livestock Loan Program
The purpose of the Ron Knight Memorial Livestock Loan program is to enable 4-H members that may not otherwise be able to purchase an animal to exhibit at the Tehama District Fair. The maximum loan is $200. Only first year participants of raising and showing a market lamb or hog for the Junior Livestock Auction are eligible; participants cannot have sold livestock at a previous Junior Livestock Auction. To apply, an individual Tehama County 4-H member must complete the loan application and submit a budget by the due date. An individual may only receive loan funds once. Raising and selling of an animal through 4-H is an invaluable opportunity to learn responsibility and gain business knowledge.

The County Ambassador (formerly known as All Star) is the highest recognition for a 4-H members in Tehama County. It recognizes individuals age 14 or older for their outstanding leadership, community service and project work. Being a County Ambassador is an opportunity for further experience and growth in public speaking, leadership and community involvement. In Tehama County, the goal is to select 4-H teen members to represent the county at county, regional and state 4-H events.
Applications for the 2020-2021 program year will be posted in early 2020
B.L.A.S.T.: “Becoming Leaders...All Star Trainees”, is an opportunity for 4-H members with one year of leadership completed, to use their leadership and community service skills to assist the All Star team at a county level.
Applications are due May 24, 2019 by 5PM
CA 4-H State Leadership Conference Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by Tractor Supply Company and will be used to send Tehama County 4-H members to attend CA 4-H State Leadership Conference. The number and amount of scholarships vary each year. Please see the application below for requirements.

All Star Ambassador Academic Scholarship
The goals of the Tehama County 4-H Youth Development Program All Star Ambassador Academic Scholarship are to encourage All Star Ambassador participation and reward academic achievement. The Tehama County 4-H Youth Development Program Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the availability of a $300 cash award given to one individual based upon criteria listed in the application.
