Scott joins ANR as payroll manager
The ANR Business Operations Center is very pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Marie Scott as ANR payroll manager, effective February 7.
Scott brings strong payroll management and UCPath expertise with 19 years of UC experience in payroll, employment tax and accounts payable management. Most recently, she served as the payroll manager for the UC Office of the President working in the new UCPath system for the past year and a half. Prior to UCOP, she worked for UC Davis for 17 years as a payroll accountant, accounts payable division manager and also as the payroll manager for one of UCD's new shared service centers. She is also a Certified Payroll Professional.
We look forward to Anne Marie's leadership and expertise in the new position of ANR payroll manager. Her experience working in the UCPath system at UCOP will uniquely enhance ANR's transition of payroll services to the new UCPath system. Anne Marie will lead the ANR BOC payroll team providing time reporting and payroll services to all ANR units statewide. She will also work closely with the ANR Human Resources team to ensure efficient coordination between HR actions and payroll services.
Please welcome Anne Marie to UC ANR! Anne Marie's work location is in the BOC on the second floor of the ANR Building in Davis. She can be contacted at ascott@ucanr.edu and (530) 750-1273.

Courtesy notice regarding annual systemwide payroll disclosure
Dear colleagues,
As part of the University’s obligation to be transparent and publicly accountable for its conduct, including the way it compensates its faculty and staff, UC is conducting its annual disclosure of systemwide employee compensation for calendar year 2012. This disclosure parallels last year’s payroll disclosure and is consistent with similar practices at many other public institutions.
The 2012 payroll data, along with a summary analysis, is available online at http://compensation.universityofcalifornia.edu/payroll2012. The data will also be available to news media upon request.
Because UC is a public institution, employee compensation is considered a public record under the California Public Records Act and is reflected in the staff personnel policy in Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM) 80(C): http://atyourservice.ucop.edu/employees/policies_employee_labor_relations/personnel_policies/spp80.html.
“Information which is public information and which should be released upon request includes name, date of hire, current position title, current salary, organizational unit assignment, date of separation, office address and office telephone number, current job description, full-time or part-time, and appointment type.”
Academic personnel policy, Academic Personnel Manual (APM) 160-20(b)(4): www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/apm/apm-160.pdfwww.ucop.edu/academic-personnel/_files/apm/apm-160.pdf also states that any “non-personal” information “is public information and is available upon request to any person or entity without limitation.” It defines “non-personal” academic personnel information as including name, date of hire or separation, current position title, and current rate of pay.
Questions about access to the payroll data may be directed to local Information Practices/Public Records Offices: www.ucop.edu/general-counsel/legal-resources/information-practices/information-practices-coordinators.html
Sincerely,
UCOP Office of Public Records

UC to pay nonexempt staff on biweekly cycle
On Jan. 20, 2013, all nonexempt staff employees who are currently paid monthly will transition to a biweekly pay cycle paid hourly.
This change is one of the ways the university is preparing for the implementation of UCPath, a new integrated payroll and human resource information system that will be shared across all UC locations.
The transition process is as follows:
- Employees whose paychecks are processed by UC Davis will begin using a biweekly pay cycle on Jan. 20, 2013.
- Nonexempt employees will be moved to the biweekly pay cycle.
- Employees on the biweekly pay cycle will be paid every other week on Wednesday.
- A transition assistance program is being developed to assist eligible affected employees.
