Now accepting applications for Tehama UC MASTER GARDENER
Attention Tehama County Master Gardeners
Apply to be a UC Master Gardener Today!
Who are Master Gardeners?
They are volunteers that are willing to use research-based information to answer questions related to home gardening, landscaping, and pest management from local members of the community. They are agents of the University that abide by UC guidelines and policy and receive academic and administrative support from University staff and academics. They do not have to be gardening experts, they are simply willing to learn and eager to serve their community.
How to join?
Inquire with your local UCCE office concerning application to the program. Following application and a successful interview 15 weeks of training are required. Shasta Community College has a course to training new Master Gardeners, and other UCCE offices occasionally offer trainings as well.

What is UC Cooperative Extension?
The University of California's 64 Cooperative Extension (UCCE) offices are local problem-solving centers. More than 400 campus-based specialists and county-based farm, home, and youth advisors work as teams to bring the University's research-based information to Californians. UCCE is a full partnership of federal, state, county, and private resources linked in applied research and educational outreach. UCCE tailors its programs to meet local needs. UCCE's many teaching tools include meetings, conferences, workshops, demonstrations, field days, video programs, newsletters and manuals. Thousands of volunteers extend UCCE's outreach, assisting with nutrition and 4-H youth development programs along with Master Gardener, Master Food Preserver, and Master Food Shopper education.
