The Cover Crop Selection Tool Coordinator will perform a range of duties, functioning as part of a national team focused on the development, implementation, and dissemination of cover crop management and decision-making tools. The Cover Crop Selection Tool Coordinator will assist in efforts to develop a cover crop species selector tool for the Western United States based on existing selector tools from other regions. The incumbent will work with counterparts in the West, Midwest, Northeast, and Southern United States to structure the tool for use in the West and refine underlying tool data to recognize the goals and constraints and meet the needs of western subregions.
The Cover Crop Selection Tool Coordinator serves as the primary technical assistant specialist responsible for assisting in scheduling and running teleconference calls with agronomic experts to fulfill the goal of populating data for the Western species selector tool. Through their supervisor and counterparts the incumbent interfaces closely with agricultural industry personnel, farmers, extension agents, and scientists conducting research at universities across the western US to understand and support the use of cover crops in the region.
This position is a contract appointment that is 100% fixed.
This position is eligible for hybrid flexible work arrangements, for applicants living in the State of California, at this time. Please note that hybrid flexible work arrangements are subject to change by the University.
Min $21.35/hr. to Mid $25.35/hr.
