This Business Officer will serve as the financial and general business lead for the University of California Intermountain Research and Extension Center (IREC), a 140 acre research property operated by the UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR), located in Tulelake, CA. Under the general direction of the Director at IREC, the successful candidate will lead all aspects of financial management and business operations at the center. This includes development of short and long-range budget projections, management of diverse types of financial reporting for grants, establishment of billing and contract agreements with researchers, management and record keeping for various committees, as well as scheduling access to conference rooms, dorms and field sites. This position works closely with both the director and center superintendent in developing seasonal and annual operational plans as well as long-term business strategies. This position will also perform additional duties related to budget and purchasing for UC advisors based in Tulelake. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, strong organizational and project management skills, excellent communication skills and ability to work well in teams in a fast paced and dynamic research program.
This position is a limited term appointment that is 100% fixed and ends five months from the date of hire, with the possibility of an extension or conversion to career.
Pay Scale: $26.75/hour - $35.11/hour
This position will promote, in all ways consistent with the other responsibilities of the position, accomplishment of the Affirmative Action goals established by the Division.
